Juuka Church

Welcome to a beautiful wooden church

The beautiful wooden evangelical Lutheran church in Juua was built in 1850-1851 and solemnly inaugurated on 10 July 1859. The church was designed by architect C. A. Gustavsson, but the bell tower was built by the people of Juu themselves in 1796.

It can seat 800 people. The church organ is a 22-voice mechanical organ made by the Kangasala organ factory in 1974.

The altarpiece is a reproduction by Kaarlo Kiljander (1885) of an altarpiece painted by A. von Becker, which was destroyed by fire.
