Experiences in the heart of the national landscape

A traditional smoke sauna, pre-heated upon request, and a kota (a traditional Finnish hut) are located in the middle of Koli National Park, on the shore of Lake Pielinen. Korvenkota is about ten kilometers from the village of Koli. You can reach us in different seasons and in many different ways; via Rantatie road that runs through the national park's landscapes, by deviating from the Herajärvi hiking trails, or even from Lake Pielinen itself.

The place is best suited for groups of 1-12 people. The smoke sauna can comfortably accommodate five people at a time on the benches. The steam lasts for up to three hours with a single heating, allowing even larger groups to enjoy a leisurely sauna experience and the refreshing waters of Lake Pielinen (with the option of ice swimming in winter). The nearby kota offers a cozy and sheltered space for your gathering. The kota can comfortably fit about ten people, and there are two sturdy outdoor table groups for picnickers and a campfire spot with benches in the yard.

You can also spend an entire Koli Day with us, enjoying the diverse natural surroundings. Pirunkirkko, one of Koli’s most significant natural attractions, is only a few hundred meters from Korvenkota. From Pirunkirkko’s parking lot, trails of the national park start, including the Restorer’s Path and the Kiehiski Circle, both of which connect briefly to the Herajärvi trail. Or, if you wish to see the hills and islands of Koli from Lake Pielinen, you can go rowing and fishing with our wooden rowboats. In winter, you can take these same trips on snowshoes. Korvenkota’s warm smoke sauna and kota await you at the end of your hiking day. Welcome to Koli Korvenkota!
