Kotakylä is like a secret world by a wilderness lake, separate from the hustle and stress of modern life. The authentic Kotakylä has been gradually built over about 15 years, and it is full of various surprises to see and experience. In Kotakylä, you can return to your roots and live in the spirit of indigenous peoples and pioneers.
In Kotakylä, life is lived in close connection with the surrounding nature. You can fish, paddle, or row on Lake Vaikko, explore the eastern Finnish wilderness, and enjoy the calming stillness. In the evening, you can relax in one of the unique saunas in the sauna world.
Accommodation is based on an area fee, which allows you to stay in Kotakylä either for a full day (from 4 PM to 12 PM) or just during the day (from 9 AM to 7 PM). With the day or overnight fee, you can enjoy all the area’s activities and sleep in a kota, your own tent, or a hammock. For an additional fee, you can also rent a kota for your exclusive use.
Guests have access to kayaks, canoes, SUP boards, hammocks, outdoor activities, and fishing permits.
Kotakylä also has a caravan area.
