Finland’s second largest open-air museum.
The intriguing Pielinen Museum is close to Lieksa centre and is open year-round. The vast museum area includes the open-air museum and Lieksa Town Museum. Together, they preserve the cultural heritage of forest work. In the open-air museum, located next to the Lieksanjoki River, there are 70 buildings which preserve building heritage for visitors to enjoy and explore.
Cradel of local history and culture
The buildings in the museum are from three different centuries. You can explore the area on a guided tour or with a mobile app. In summer there is also a café and in July music performances and work shows.
