Vuonislahti cultural village

Welcome to Vuonislahti, an idyllic and lively cultural village on the eastern shore of Lake Pielinen, with the high peaks of Koli visible across the water! In Vuonislahti, which is also known from Heikki Turunen’s book “Simpauttaja,” you can stay in a traditional inn, enjoy the atmosphere of an old village school, or attend a summer theater. You can admire the wood sculptures of sculptor Eva Ryynänen by taking a road trip or a log boat transport from Vuonislahti harbor. In the summer, you can reach Vuonislahti from Koli by a scenic cruise, and in the winter, by an exciting ice road. There is a convenient train connection between Joensuu and Nurmes that serves Vuonislahti.
